“Huni sa Daplin” is a Bisaya phrase which when roughly translated to English would be “Melody in the Margins”. In a deeper sense, it is that soft melody, that tune, that suddenly fills your head and makes you sit up, sometimes sweating, sometimes with antennae spinning you may hear in the margins of your consciousness- that soft little voice that pops up from time to time, that tune that suddenly fills your head but always only in that fraction of time and then it trickles to nothingness.
This blog is about that something that we often forget and yet never truly forgotten. This is for the things that we seldom give importance and yet they fill our lives with more meaning and vibrance once we remember them. This is for those thoughts that are rarely spoken aloud and yet in hushed whispers whisper they shout their importance to our minds and such resonate in our hearts.
(Bisaya is a Filipino dialect used predominantly in the Visayas and Mindanao area of the Philippines)
